Fan culture started with storytelling in ancient Greece, and up until now, with the rise of technology, fan productivity is even more prominent with the use of social media platforms, such as Twitter, Instagram, Discord, and YouTube, among others. What should we anticipate for the future of fan culture? What are the possible outcomes when we look at the current rise in technology? Will it expand and intensify with the internet, or improve for the better?
Experience it for yourself through this storytelling piece, (F)anticipation, which enables you to make choices that determine a user’s actions through an imagined community platform. It’s possible that we will continue cancelling and start rating each other on online platforms. Or, it can go in a positive direction, where, rather than cancelling everyone, we will start to do research and educate others with compassion. Whatever it is, it’s ultimately in our hands.
